Frequently Asked Questions

When should I see a counselor?

While individual cases vary, some of the times a counselor may be helpful are:

When you feel a need for personal or spiritual growth.

When you have a conflict you cannot resolve.

When you lack peace and joy in your life.

When events or emotions seem overwhelming.

When your marriage is in trouble.

How do you do marriage counseling?

Many times we use both counselors when counseling couples. We have found it particularly effective for our clients to receive both male and female perspectives of an issue. Sometimes only one partner comes and we pair them with the appropriate same-sex counselor if possible. We use a variety of strategies and techniques from proven Christian counselors and marriage experts.

What are your fees?

We are committed to providing affordable, Christian counseling. Our standard fee is $125 for a one-hour session, or $185 with two counselors, payable at the time of appointment. We will work to make our services available to all who seek counseling. We are able to take credit cards, and some churches assist their members with the counseling fee. Special funding is available to assist ministers and their families.

Do you accept insurance?

We are unable to accept insurance because we are Christian counselors who operate under the authority of our Christian beliefs and religious affiliations. We do, however, work with anyone to make counseling affordable.

How confidential is your counseling?

Confidentiality is a crucial element of the counseling relationship. Information shared is held in strictest confidence. There are some limitations to confidentiality as required by law.

About Us

Christian Counseling Services provides Christ-centered counseling and encouragement to individuals and families. We are a ministry of Crosspointe Church in Valdosta, Georgia and of First Baptist Church in Tifton, Georgia. In addition, we provide Christian counseling services for many churches, businesses and organizations in South Georgia and North Florida. All counseling is based on principles from the Bible with no theories or methodologies applied which conflict with the truth of God’s Word. We want to help clients develop new skills and explore options for dealing with problems through the power of Christ. We understand that in the midst of difficult circumstances, having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can enable us to make it through our pain and give us peace. We use reliable, biblically based principles and strategies to support and to encourage clients.
